Taming of the Shrew
2018

‘The Taming of the Shrew’ was Shakespeare Society’s 2018 summer term production, staged

exclusively by first year students. Directed by Sorrel Wilson, the story of Petruchio’s attempts to woo Kate (the titular Shrew) was reimagined in a 1920s America. With fast paced action and lots of physical comedy the show filled the Boilerhouse lecture theatre over two performances where it received fantastic reviews by all who came to watch. #letusenterTAMEyou #ShrewCrew

King Lear
2018

This adaptation of Lear takes place in a post-apocalyptic, dystopian wasteland, ruled by the last remaining member of the Royal Family, King Lear.  Over the course of the play the land will continue to disintegrate as Lear's sanity evaporates, emphasising the relationship between the destruction of the realm and of the character's that is caused by their selfish conflicts.

Titus Andronicus
2017
 

Titus Andronicus, set in a maximum security prison, pitting the guards (The Andronici Family) against the prisoners (The Goths). Shakespeare's gruesome tale of brutality and revenge takes on a new meaning, exploring police brutality and power dynamics in jail.
